REST IN THE MUSIC

(your troubles are so many)

Does the softness of our kisses,

The tremble of your hand,

Mean that you love me?

Do I understand?

When the rainbow drops the teardrop

On your whitened cheek,

Will it flow into the ocean

Or just die as we speak?

Now your troubles are so many,

They've sent you far away.

Just a teardrop in the ocean

I'll face come what may.

And when the silence comes a calling,

I'll invite it in,

Just a rest in the music

Of a heartbeat's violin.

So to pause between the thunder

Of the love come to us,

Or crash a final ending...

The lightning turned to dust?

Now your troubles are so many

They've sent you far away.

Just a teardrop in the ocean

What can I say?

The silence comes a calling

I'll invite it in,

Just a rest in the music

Of a heartbeat's violin.

And the softness of our kisses,

The tremble of your hand

Meaning that you loved me...

I didn't understand.
