THE PROBLEM

(don't let it stop your heart)

There was a problem in his eyes:

A blindness he could always see;

He saw truth through a thousand lies;

Saw solutions to why the world cries;

Saw the way the sun would set and rise;

But when he saw how and why a man dies;

There was a problem in those eyes.

There was a problem in his eyes.

And there was a problem in his ears

A deafness he did always hear;

He heard a thunder in music that was near;

Heard the crucifixion all men fear;

He heard hunger and tears;

And when despair called out he could always hear;

And that was a problem for those ears.

There was a problem in his ears.

And there was a problem in his mind:

A tumor he did always know;

He knew the difference between your and mine;

Knew what to keep and leave behind;

He had the reason to search and to find;

But he never understood why men were not all kind;

And that was a problem for that mind.

That was a problem in his mind.

And there was a problem in his heart:

A pain that he did always feel;

Because he felt a love so strong it torn him apart;

A love without an end or start;

'Til it banished him and set him far apart;

That was a problem for a heart.

There was a problem in his heart.

Is there a problem in your mind?

Do your ears really hear?

Is there a problem in your heart?

Do your eyes see too clear?

Then go and tell them what you see and hear;

Go ahead to cry and speak out,

Because this is the end, or maybe the start,

But don't let the problems stop your heart.
